Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana is an initiative of the Government of India to address the issue of child sex ratio in the country. After the year 1961, a decline was observed in the child sex ratio in the country. This ratio was the ratio of girls per 1000 boys in the age group of 0 to 6 years. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme was launched by PM Narendra Modi on 2 January 2015 in Panipat, Haryana. The scheme is being run by three ministries – Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Balika Samriddhi Yojana

Balika Samriddhi Yojana was launched on 15 August 1997. In this scheme, the benefits are given to the daughters of the family below the poverty line, who were born on or after 15 August 1997. In this only a maximum of two girls from a poor family can take advantage of it. This scheme covers the daughters of urban and rural poor families who are born on or after 15 August 1997.
